Professor Marco Marzano from Bergamo University will present a lecture at PARI on 9 June, looking at the ethics of investigative research.

‘The Investigative is a theoretical paradigm for qualitative social research, different from the Cooperative. Its premises are that 1) the main aim of social research is not to illustrate the subject’s point of view by putting oneself in the subject’s shoes, but rather to understand and explain the social conflicts that are so widespread in contemporary societies; 2) people often lie and try to hide a good part of their lives from the social researcher, who has to use different methods in order to offer a more accurate and realistic description of reality.’
