Monday, 29 July 2024 – The Director of the Public Affairs Research Institute, Dr Mbongiseni Buthelezi has been appointed as the CEO of the Nelson Mandela Foundation. Dr Buthelezi has dedicated approximately nine years to PARI where he has contributed to the work and enhanced the trajectory of the organisation through his leadership. Dr Buthelezi has led the state capture research and published multiple books and peer-reviewed articles. He led a diverse team of staff with integrity and strengthened the work and profile of the organisation.
The PARI Board supports Dr Buthelezi’s decision to take up a role that is befitting of his stature and believes his leadership will be an asset to the Nelson Mandela Foundation as it embodies the ideals of our former President Nelson Mandela. The Chair of the Board, Ivan Pillay stated, ‘We are grateful to Dr Buthelezi for his contribution to the organisation and we wish him well at the Foundation.’
