Dr Mbongiseni Buthelezi was interviewed on Newzroom Afrika on 11 October about the issue of a lack of professionalism in the public sector, which results in bad service and often, indignity. Dr Buthelezi argues that performance management systems, record systems and skill sets inside the public service need to be improved, as well as looking more closely at the processes of recruitment and promotion.
