On 30 January 2020, PARI Research Associate and Political Studies lecturer Thokozani Chilenga-Butao chatted to Bongani Bingwa on Radio 702 about alleged nepotism in the Public Service Commission (PSC). The PSC director-general Dovhani Mamphiswana will be investigated for allegations of appointing his mistress as the chief director for professional ethics.

Chilenga-Butao commented on the need for transparency in appointments to the public service:

“We know that you can have relatives and people working within the same sector who are well qualified to do their work, but given the fact that we are still in a period where we are trying to work out state capture, we are still in a stage where we wonder when these appointments happen.”
