Just Access is a PARI podcast in two seasons. Season 1, The Real Transition is a 10-part documentary-style audio podcast that examines the deep social, economic and political implications of South Africa’s Just Transition.
In September 2026, Just Access is back with a new season, The Real Democracy, a seven-episode audio series for South Africa’s 2026 local government elections. As South Africans prepare to go to the polls to vote in their ward councillors and city leaders, the podcast examines the state of municipalities, its capacity, infrastructure and finance from the perspective of PARI’s research.
Just Access is created for policymakers, researchers, activists and citizens alike; this podcast both challenges and empowers listeners with new insights into South Africa’s energy, land, politics, livelihoods and state-society relations.
